What can you say, it's ink & paper and it works with a super printer. Delivery was great so would buy again.

Hi I recently brought the Canon A570IS, which is the model below the A720IS these two cameras have to be the best point and shoots on the market .

I spent weeks researching, because I was looking for a camera, to take photos of my newborn Grandchild, and after reading numerous glowing reviews, from consumers, and professionals, it seems Canon PowerShot A series are one of the best, in their class for features. please take a look at this ,review it differs slightly to the A720IS, but is basically the same.

and the image quality, is superb, This camera is a great point an shoot camera, but it also has loads of additional functions,within the cameras manual mode, that makes it a cut above the rest in it’s class.

Some of this camera’s many features include, face recognition, red eye fix , image stabiliser, movie mode, it can even be used under water, ( with the aid of separate casing) to many to mention here. but really a top little camera, for the money

Definetly go with the Canon, go to somewhere like Jessops, and take a look at both models, A570IS and the A720IS, one is slightly heavier and slightly bigger. and the A720IS is about £40/£50 more expensive.

There’s no Panasonic T23… I guess you may be referring to either the TZ2 or the TZ3.

If that’s the case, I think that the Panasonic TZ3 is overall you best choice. The Canon A720 IS is nice, but it really doesn’t offer anything relevant that the Panasonic doesn’t have; and the Ricoh R7, while not plain bad, isn’t exactly the most reliable & quality camera either.

I was looking into the two exact cameras you mentioned (Canon and Panasonic, didn’t bother with the Ricoh)

I found the following reviews very helpful. It’s a bit of reading , but it’s worth it.
These sites have nothing on personal preference/experience, as such you have to have a look at the cameras in a store.
BUT, the links are very handy for narrowing a search, in terms what you want out of a camera, etc.

The DCC-80 was the one recommended. I am not disapointed. The DCC-80 is a quality case which fits the A590is nicely. The case is fitted with two pockets in which to store extra batteries and memory cards. A nice touch is that the case comes supplied with two straps - a long, shoulder strap and a smaller hand strap. Very useful.
